About 75 friends and family paid respects to lost love ones at recent memorial service.

About 75 people attended the annual Memorial Service for friends and family who the neighborhood lost in the past 12 months.

Tributes were made to Vicky Benscoter, John Clary, Joanne Mill, Carol Rumann, Mike Scheffler, and John Slezak.

Los Lagos Vistas HOA President Jason Hart led the service with an opening prayer and by memorializing those lost. Friends and family eulogized the departed and offered personal insights into their many community contributions.

Each family received a prayer shawl an

d a wooden cross donated by the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. The shawls are a token of comfort during a time of loss and handmade with love by women in the ministry.

Maria Hart, Jason’s wife and head of the Los Lagos Vistas Circle Captains, crocheted little hearts to commemorate the time and offer a point of remembrance from the service.

Carol Rumann had been the organizer of the event for several years. Her family followed her wishes not to have any big commemorations of he

r February passing, except to include her in the Los Lagos Vistas memorial service. Maria Hart, Doreene Schaffer, Michelle Baker, and Kathy Yager stepped up to organize this year’s event and provide refreshments.

You may see obituaries and photos on the Los Lagos Vistas website, including a special family remembrance for Carol Rumann.
